Program Areas


The important thing about the programs run by the OSF Prague is that they are backed by the partnership with a number of organizations and that they are mostly long-term schemes. Most of the programs and projects that the OSF Prague is supporting and intends to support seek to help achieve systemic and/or legislation changes, or major changes in the current practice.

Moreover, the Fundation supports and intends to support programs that find it difficult to obtain funds from other sources – the main reason being the fact that most major international donors have left or are leaving the Czech Republic whereas local donors have not yet decided for this kind of support, and support cannot be expected from the European funds either. The programs seek to support non-profit organizations promoting the public interest, to support the fight against corruption; others are independent policy institutes and some are programs aiming to support systemic changes in general.
