Human rights and discrimination

Lidska_prava_a_diskrim_1_velkaProtecting human rights is a long-term priority of all foundations in the Open Society Foundations network. In the Czech Republic, Open Society Fund Prague supports primarily projects by non-governmental organizations involved in fighting discrimination, xenophobia, and violence, that provide help for victims of discrimination, and that are engaged in changing majority society's views of minorities. OSF gives priority to projects that address hate-based violence and discriminatory access to education and housing.

OSF also collaborates with organizations that contribute to creating equal opportunities for men and women. The foundation is especially involved in promoting systemic changes in these areas, promotes women's increased political engagement, and supports family policies that respect the concept of equal opportunities.

Last but not least, OSF supports organizations that work to improve the position of immigrants in the Czech Republic and that are involved in protecting immigrants' rights.
