Border Dialogues: Promoting Cross-Border Cooperation in a Wider Europe, Stage I

Prague-based Institute for Stability and Development organized, in close collaboration with partner organization, Institute for Transfrontier Cooperation in Uzhgorod, Ukraine, the first annual forum on cross-border cooperation in the EU Neighborhood. The main goal of this event was to create an annual forum allowing for an interactive dialogue on cross-border cooperation and experience sharing in the European Neighborhood area that would bring together NGOs, practitioners, policy makers and researchers working at local, regional and European levels. The forum gathered more than one hundred participants mainly from Central and Eastern Europe. The forum formulated a number of policy recommendations widely disseminated afterwards. It was agreed that the forum will continue in the following years and will be more practically oriented towards concrete projects in the border regions.
