As a part of great project Improving Media Objectivity and Coverage of Issues Involving Social Tolerance which was initiated by Open Society Foundations, the Czech organization In IUSTITIA conducted a media workshop on racism and far right movements. It took place in Prague, the Czech Republic in September 2010. The workshop was targeted at the journalists because they are among the first to learn about far-right movements´ activities in public space and hate-violence incidents. Their role in informing the public is thus essential. The workshop was attended by 28 journalists and students of journalism and related fields from Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The participants discussed the role of the media in civil society and learned more about the issues of racism and far right movements. They also participated in a field trip to learn about Czech history during the Nazi occupation.
